-Had a very pleasant flight
from Pudong Airport Shanghai to Changi that took 5 hrs and 15 min. by
SQ825. Everything is fine, relaxation (slept for 2 hrs), ,entertainment
(music channel)food, (western omelette with sausage), good drink(ABC
Stout) and good company! One up for Singapore Airline/Silkair!
While in Shanghai, temperatures at 2--6 degree to me is very very cold! So most of the time we kept ourselves indoor, sleeping in the hotel room or visiting Exhibiting Halls/Museum. This time we managed to visit Science and Technology Museum at Pudong, City Planning Exhibition Centre at People's Square (this is the best!)and The Expo Saudi Arabia Pavilion. We missed the Shanghai Arts Museum because of bad weather.
Visiting China, one big expenditure is the entrance fee to various tourist attractions: ranging from maybe RMB20 to RMB150. For those establishments I mentioned in Shanghai the charge is around RMB60 for adults and half price for children/senior citizens above 70 years old. However, the best day to visit is Tuesday when everyone is charged half price. When I visited The Science and Technology Museum, free of charge for seniors (they called 长者) above 70.
My favourite food item in Shanghai is the inexpensive Xianggucaibao(香菇菜包), surprisingly not the xiaolongbao(小笼包)! The dumpling with xianggu mushroom(shiitake type)and shanghai green (上海青)vegetable inside is simply delicious! I can take 5 in one go!
